In Search of Symmetry – Day 11 Breast Reconstruction

on April 9, 2011

Dr.Saint Cyr will always be one of my heroes.  I saw him in clinic this morning.  His nurse took off all my bandages and two JP drains.  Dr. Saint Cyr assured me the other two drains will come out next week.  This is better than the six weeks I spent with a JP drain after the mastectomy.

I still cannot stand up straight, must sleep on my stomach but I can lift 10 pounds.  The only exercise permitted is lifting my hands above my head and walking.  Tomorrow I plan to resume my 3 mile walks.

After we returned from the doctor, I spoke to the insurance adjuster and she sent out a water mitigation specialist for my flood from Wednesday.  Two mitigation specialist arrived, took some measurements and proceeded to make a tremendous amount of noise as the tore out my beautiful floor trim.  The floors are not salvageable.  I now have fans, heaters and a lot of noise that will continue for at least 3 days.  The good news is this cost me $1500.00.  I am only $750.00 away from completing my deductible.

I am not ready for another project.  I am really not in a condition for another project.  Lord, do you have a plan?

The steps of a good man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way and He busies Himself with his every step.     Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord grasps his hand in support and upholds him.                                                                                                                                                    Psalms 37:23-24  Amplified
